Jacqueline Lee "Jackie" Kennedy was an American socialite and first lady of the United States from 1961 to 1963, as the wife of President John F. Kennedy.
Biography[]
By 1962, Jackie Kennedy already knew that her husband was having an affair with actress Marilyn Monroe and completely despised her because of this. She also became deeply worried about Monroe's often intoxicated and drugged state (as well as her relationship with gangster and CIA asset Sam Giancana) would lead her to revealing secrets of the United States government, making her a serious national security risk. After one of their football sessions with the Comedian, Jackie explains to Edward Blake privately how much a liability Monroe was before ordering him to assassinate her. Jackie was present with her children outside the White House when her husband met with Doctor Manhattan for the first time.[1]
She was also present on the day her husband was shot and killed in Dallas, Texas in 1963.[2]
