Watchmen Movie Busts were part of the first wave of official promotional merchandise for the film, Watchmen.

They were released in three pairs, Rorschach and Ozymandias on January 29, 2009, Comedian and Doctor Manhattan on February 11, 2009, and Nite Owl II and Silk Spectre II on March 4, 2009. Like the other action figures they were published by DC Direct and were each individually sold for $69.99, though price may vary by source.

Description[]

The figures are all hand-painted, cold-cast porcelain busts with the top half of each character and the bust having a symbol that relates to the character, then a portrayal of the Doomsday Clock on the back.

  • Rorschach is holding up his grappling gun, and the front symbol is the mark he leaves at crime scenes; he measures approximately 5 1/2 inches tall, 3 inches wide and 3 inches deep.
  • Ozymandias is in full gear and his symbol is the Veidt Enterprises logo; he measures approximately 5 1/2 inches tall, 3 inches wide and three inches deep.
  • Comedian is holding his sidearms, and has a patriotic red-white-and-blue base with a shattered badge that has blood forming a smiling face; he measures approximately 5 3/4 inches high, 3 1/2 inches wide and 3 inches deep.
  • Doctor Manhattan has his arms outspread with the symbol being the same as the symbol he placed on his own forehead; he measures approximately 6 1/2 inches high, 3 1/2 inches wide and 3 inches deep.
  • Nite Owl II is in his attire, with the owl talon weapon as his symbol and on his belt; he measures approximately 6 3/4 inches high, 3 3/4 inches wide and 2 3/4 inches deep, and was sculpted by Jack Mathews.
  • Silk Spectre II is in fighting stance with a symbol of a vicious spectre of some sort; she measures approximately 7 inches high, 3 1/2 inches wide and 3 3/4 inches deep, and was sculpted by Karen Palinko.
