The Bloody Ear was a pub in New York Harbor.

During the 1930s, the landlord of the Bloody Ear was having trouble with several thugs. One night the Comedian "saved" the joint by hitting everyone unconscious with a baseball bat. He then requested some gratitude from the keeper. He helped himself by tasting one of the "dirty eggs" but then hit the keeper down as it was the worst egg he ever eaten.[1]
